I bought a 2001 Mazda Protege. The check engine light went off (P0421 - Catalyst Below efficiency) a little while after I bought it (but nothing happened on the test drive). It was fine and then would not start all of the sudden. I took it to a mechanic
You need to have the vehicles computer scanned to see how the fuel is burning and what values the O2's have comparing them to the factory specs.
