why is that those expensive little coupes by like aston martin, ferrari, etc.. have long stroke engines?

Those cars are supposed to be super fast but they all have long stroke engines why is this when a short stroke engines are supposed to be faster
According to my short research... Most of their engines seem to have a larger bore than stroke, which is desirable for higher rpm.
