Service Engine Soon light is on. How do you reset it?

This is for a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. The car seems to be running fine but after adding coolant because the low coolant light blinked on, now the "service engine soon" light is on steady. I noticed the gas mileage hasn't been as good. What
Assuming you've fixed the problem, disconnect and reconnect the battery (wait a few seconds) or pull the main fuse for the central processor in the car and then put it back (again, wait a few seconds).
The the car redetects the problem,
